There is no shame in being a mouse. Mice have their purpose and are an integral part of the ecosystem as are lions. Western culture paints a false dichotomy of power. You are either strong or weak. If you squeak, you must learn to roar!
There are so many ways to be. If a person is victimized, it is not because they are weak, it is because the culture tolerates, and implicitly encourages the wielding of power through manipulation and violence.
What if power is being vulnerable, being open, deeply listening to and caring for others and the world? Could power be showing each other our vulnerable underbellies and gently caring for each other?
If you want to roar, please roar. If you want to squeak, then squeak your heart out.
